Acclaimed saxophonist and groundbreaking artist Mike Phillips has officially joined the Board of Directors for The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by R&B legend Bobby Brown and his wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown.
Established in loving memory of Bobbi Kristina Brown, The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House is dedicated to eradicating domestic violence, addressing homelessness, and supporting mental health for individuals and families in need.
The announcement comes as the organization prepares for its 6th Annual Bobbi Kristina Serenity House Golf Tournament, to be held on October 13, 2025, at Tierra Rejada Golf Club, located at 15187 Tierra Rejada Road in Moorpark, California.
“As founders of The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House, we are thrilled to welcome Mike Phillips to our Board of Directors,” said Bobby Brown and Alicia Etheredge-Brown. “Mike’s passion for creating positive change, combined with his extraordinary influence as a global artist, aligns perfectly with our mission to empower survivors of domestic violence and provide holistic support for those in need. His involvement will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts and bring new energy to our cause.”
“I am honored to join The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House Board and stand with Bobby, Alicia, and this incredible team,” said Mike Phillips. “Music has always been my way of healing and connecting people, and I believe we have the same responsibility when it comes to ending domestic violence and providing hope for those who need it most. Together, we can create safe spaces, change lives, and keep the legacy of Bobbi Kristina alive through action and love.”
Phillips joins a distinguished board that includes Rick Barlowe, Yvette Barlowe, Rev. Beckwith, TJ Bey, Chris Brown, Landon Brown, LaPrincia Brown, Kim Etheredge, Faith Evans, Tiffany Feder, Geoff Gilstrap, and Macy Gray. Together, they are committed to advancing the organization’s mission to support and uplift survivors.
The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House provides critical resources through free, confidential 24-hour emergency counseling, transitional safe havens, and comprehensive advocacy programs. Its expanded mission also addresses the interconnected challenges of homelessness and mental health, offering a holistic path to healing and empowerment.
Mike Phillips is one of the most electrifying saxophonists of his generation. Phillips is also a recipient of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the Georgia Citizen Award, and an Honorary Doctorate in Music Business and Entrepreneurship.
In 2023, he launched Keep It Moving Music (KIMM) under the SRG Jazz label imprint and was named Sr. VP of SRG Jazz at the SRG-ILS Group.
Known for his dynamic performances across global stages and his passion for golf, Phillips continues to be a favorite among professional athletes and fans alike.
